人類はテクノロジーを用いて無数の「見えない世界」を記述し、解明してきました。
しかし、40億年以上前、地球全生命の最初の共通祖先である単一の細胞「LUCA（Last Universal Common Ancestor）」が誕生したその瞬間は、
今なお深い謎に包まれています。

私たちは、高度な文明を手にしながら、なぜ自分たちの起源という根源的な謎の前でこれほどまでに無力なのでしょうか。
本シリーズ『The Birth of LUCA : Intelligent Design （LUCAの誕生：インテリジェント・デザイン論）』において、私は生命システムが高度な知性によって設計されたとする思想の地平に立ち、もう一つの問いを光学的に投げかけます。

これは科学の図解ではありません。私たちが何者であり、どこから来たのかという問いを、意志を持った生命の秩序として描き出した、始まりの肖像です。


The Birth of LUCA : Intelligent Design
Perhaps we, as a species, have yet to write a single definitive sentence regarding the true "origin of our own life."
Through the lens of technology, humanity has mapped, described, and demystified countless hidden worlds. Yet, the exact moment over four billion years ago when "LUCA" (the Last Universal Common Ancestor)—the singular cell from which all earthly life diverges—came into existence remains shrouded in a profound, impenetrable mystery. We hold the reins of an advanced civilization, and yet we stand utterly powerless before the primordial riddle of our own genesis.
In this series, The Birth of LUCA : Intelligent Design, I position my practice upon the conceptual horizon of the thought that the system of life was architected by a higher intelligence, casting an optical inquiry into the dark void.
This work is by no means a scientific illustration. Rather, it is a portrait of inception—an endeavor to confront the eternal question of who we are and where we came from, capturing it as the deliberate, intentional order of life.
